Allspice has been called the only spice native to the “new world.” The name conjures a taste that European explorers could only describe as a combination of Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Cloves. The latter being most correct, as Allspice, like Cloves has a high amount of Eugenol in its essential oil.
Allspice adds warm notes to specialized Gins, Vodkas and Rum.
