The Terms and Conditions below stipulate the terms and conditions for sales directly from Avon Guard East cc T/A Millside Craft Distilling Supplies. If a product has been purchased from a different re-seller/distributor, then different terms and conditions may apply.

These terms are taken to be acknowledged and accepted by customers upon making an order from Millside on this website or purchasing directly from the Millside shop.

 

What are your Pricing Policies?

​

All of our prices are in South Africa Rand (ZAR) and include VAT (Value Added Tax @ 15%). Product prices are regularly updated when price changes are received from our suppliers.

 

What are your Privacy Policies?

​

Millside shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of its users. Any information, we collect in relation to you, is kept strictly confidential and secured. All information provided on this website is used at your own risk. We do not sell, pass on, or swap any of your personal details with anyone. We use this information to identify your orders, provide you with any update or specials if you have subscribed to our website. If purchasing any item that is used in the production of any form of alcohol, you will be required to complete a SARS document.  This information will be shared with SARS on request or as required by South African Law. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA).

What are your Website Policies?

​

No persons under the age of 18 years can purchase any items from the Millside website.

All images on the website may differ from the actual products i.e.: colour, size, shape etc. These products may be changed, updated, improved and different suppliers may be utilised.

All the information, recipes or articles found on this website will be used at the user’s own risk.

Millside, its staff members and owners are free of any and all liabilities following any illegal or illicit activity on your part.  You further more acknowledge that the use of distilling equipment and or brewing equipment for the sole purpose of manufacturing alcoholic products in your country is governed by laws which you need to acquaint yourself with and adhere to.

Please note that the Millside website is governed by South African laws and chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court processes, notices, or other documents or communication of whatever nature. Millside may, in its sole discretion, change any part of this agreement or part thereof at any time without notice.

Shipping Information

​

All orders placed online with Millside Craft Distilling Supplies are delivered by The Courier Guy (www.thecourierguy.co.za), which is a trusted name in logistics in South Africa. No parcels will be sent without providing you with a tracking number. Please note, Millside will only ship to addresses in South Africa. Please contact us directly if you require delivery to other location outside of South Africa.

What address do you ship to?

​

We only ship orders to physical addresses. Please make sure that the address that you choose for delivery is accurately captured and that there is someone present to receive the parcel on your behalf if you are not there. We recommend using your work address for deliveries.

What are the costs of shipping?

​

Shipping and or courier costs per order is indicated to main towns only.  Any other outlying areas will be charged for additionally as per The Courier Guy’s pricing.  If you are unsure of the costs, please contact us directly in order for us to confirm with the courier.

 

How long will it take to receive my order?

​

Orders are generally dispatched within 2 working days after receipt of payment. Delivery to main cities will take place between 1 and 3 working days, while regional/outlying areas usually take 3-5 working days. The delivery time-frame depends on the logistics and your delivery location. If you need your order urgently, please call us after placing your order and we will do everything in our power to assist.

 

Packaging and Shipping

​

Millside Craft Distilling Supplies cannot be held responsible or liable for any damage, loss or unforeseen issues experienced by the courier or shipping company.

All products are quality checked and then vigorously wrapped and or packaged prior to shipping.

Please note, standard parcels and or shipments are not insured.

Shipping costs are non-refundable. Should you wish to return any goods and a refund is passed, shipping costs will be for your account and if necessary deducted from your refund.

How will I know if my order is being processed?

​

Once you have placed you order in the online store or telephonically, you will receive a number of emails informing you of where your order is in the process of shipment.

These emails will be sent to the email address provided on the order form. If the emails are undeliverable, this may delay your shipment. Please ensure you have a current cell phone number on the order if we need to make contact with you.

 

Can I collect my order?

​

Should you wish to collect your order from our premise, please wait for your confirmation email stating that your parcel is ready for collection. You can also contact us directly on 082 691-7298 to confirm the parcel is ready and waiting.

 

Is my parcel insured?

​

Shipments include handling, packaging and courier fees – NO INSURANCE IS INCLUDED.  Shipment is done at your own risk. If you would like your parcel to be insured against breakage, please either select the option for delivery with insurance on checkout if it is available or make use of your own courier company.

If you do not select an insurance option, the risk of the shipment lies solely with you. Please note however, should your parcel be damaged on transit, we can assist you with a limited claim to the courier service and try to recover part of your losses.

If your parcel is damaged during receipt, and you have taken the insurance option, please take a few good photos to indicate the damage and we will assist you in claiming the value of your order from the Courier company.

 

What happens if I want to cancel the order that I have already paid for it?

​

Millside Craft Distilling Supplies will charge a 10% administration fee, should the order be cancelled by the client.

 

How do I pay for my order?


Millside Craft Distilling Supplies accepts online payments via EFT, or payments via PayFast which is linked to our website for your convenience when placing an order online.

If you feel that the above two methods are not suitable, please feel free to ask for an invoice to be emailed directly to you, this will allow you to do a direct bank transfer.

You are also most welcome to come in and pay cash for your order if you prefer.

Please note, no goods will be allowed to leave our store until such time as they are paid for in full.  Online payments will need to be cleared and the amount confirmed in our account before any goods are released.

 

How long do I have before I need to pay for my order?

​

Parcels will be prepared for shipping if we received your payment within 7 days from date of order.

All orders not paid within the allotted 7-day period will be deleted. 

 

What happens if the stock I have ordered and paid for, is out of stock?

​

If an item was available on the online store and then when it comes to packaging it appears to be out of stock for some reason, Millside will notify you immediately.

You can then decide which option you would prefer:

​

a.         Cancel the whole order.

 

In the event you decide to cancel your order, you can choose whether you would like to be refunded directly into  our bank account or be provided with a credit note to use at the Millside online store.

b.         Cancel only the out of stock item.

​

In the event you decide to cancel the out of stock item, you can choose whether you would like to be refunded or be provided with a credit note to use at our online store.

​

c.         Place the item on hold until stock arrives – a due date will be provided if applicable.

 

What if I’m unhappy with my order?

​

Please note, Millside will only exchange unused, unopened or new items, within 7 days after they have been delivered.

All items must be returned in their original packaging and are subject to availability.

Millside will, at their discretion, replace or repair any equipment that is faulty due to bad workmanship or materials only if the item is returned to our store in person and collected from our store in person.

Refunds and exchanges can only be approved by management.
There is a NO RETURN and NO REFUND policy on perishable goods, wooden barrels, broken glass equipment, heating elements and electronic equipment damaged by lighting, power surges or any other natural disasters.

There is a NO RETURN and NO REFUND policy on any equipment or goods that were damaged accidentally, physically whether indented or not, misused and or abused or unintendedly used.

There is a NO RETURN and NO REFUND policy on special and or discounted items.

Any shipping and courier costs are non-refundable.

 

What if a product is lost due to failure of equipment, leakages or causes damages?

​

All items supplied by Millside must be tested thoroughly before use and maintained correctly over time. Millside is not responsible for lost beverages, liquid, gas or other consumables caused by leaks or faulty items. All systems require maintenance and require periodic seal replacements etc. It is the user's ongoing responsibility to make sure all fittings and fixtures are functioning correctly to maintain a good seal. Do not leave equipment unattended or under pressure if you are unsure of the condition of the equipment. The supplier shall under no circumstances be liable for any special, consequential or indirect damages or losses.

All products or goods resold by the customer, are done so at their own risk and the customer cannot hold Avon Guard East cc T/A Millside Craft Distilling Supplies liable for any consequential loss on further distribution or products sold.

 

What warranties do I receive when purchasing an electrical item?

​

Avon Guard East cc T/A Millside Craft Distilling Supplies hereby warrants that all products are free from defects and in good order as defined by Millside. Millside shall require proof of purchase in the form of the original invoice from the customer, indicating the date, address, telephone number, reason for replacement of defective part as well as the actual defective part under warranty, prior to Millside honouring the claim. Millside agrees to replace any part, free of charge inside the warranty period where such replacement becomes necessary as a sole and direct result of inherent defect in the part and undertakes to provide, free of charge, the labour and workmanship involved in the repair of the product on their premises as the warranty is a carry in warranty. The transport is for the customer’s account. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from incorrect, inadequate or negligent application of the products, nor does the warranty cover lightning, power surges or other natural disasters. Millside shall not be liable to any other extent than the replacement of the defective parts and the labour and workmanship involved in their replacement. This warranty covers the full extent of liability; no other warranties or guarantees being expressed or implied.


a.         The warranty period ranges between six (6) and twelve (12) months, depending on the equipment.
b.         No refunds, exchanges or credit on any electrical parts, display or circuit boards.
c.         The following items are consumables and are NOT covered by any warranty:

            -  All Seals, O-rings and Gaskets.

            -  Heating Elements and Sensors.

            -  Pumps.

d.         All equipment repaired by Millside in terms of the warranty must be collected within ninety (90) days of the notification of the completion             of the repairs. Failure to comply with this condition will result in the sale of the equipment in order to defray costs.

e.         Warranty will be void on all equipment with compressors if transported flat or tilted

            more than 45 degrees.
f.          Condenser, compressor, fan and motor need to be dust free and cleaned at least

            once a month or warranty will be void if this is not done.
g.         Regular services must be done by a qualified technicians or warranty will be void if

            this is not done.
h.         Three (3) Months carry in warranty on all services and parts replaced by Millside

            technicians.
i.          All Warranties & Guarantees of locally sourced equipment is warranted by their   respective manufacturer/importer and NOT by Millside.

 

Am I able to make and sell alcohol?

​

Avail yourself to the regulations and laws regarding distilling and fermentation of alcoholic beverages in your country of residence, as it is illegal in some countries.

All regulations pertaining to the production of spirits in South Africa are available on the SARS website.

You may own a still, ferment and produce alcohol at home for HOME CONSUMPTION ONLY. You are not allowed to produce alcoholic beverages for purpose of resale or trading without applying for the necessary permit in South Africa.

We suggest before distilling or using any distilling equipment you undergo the correct training.
